Procedure To How To Become A Chartered Accountant
To become CA in India, you have to follow 4 basic steps and the very first step is CA Foundation Course Exams.
Step:1 Register For CA Foundation Course
Eligibility: You need to clear the 12th Boards from any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts) with a minimum score of 33% percentage.
Registration for Foundation: For the registration of CA Foundation, you need to fill up the basic details online at ICAI’s official website and attaining a registration number, user ID, and password.
Validity: The validation for registration for CA Foundation Exams is for 3 Years. This means students after clearing 12th Boards have 6 attempts which can be exercised during the validation period.
Step:2 Register for CA Intermediate Course
Eligibility: You need to clear CA Foundation Exams by at least 50% aggregate marks. Just after the result, you can register yourself for the CA Intermediate Exams.
Registration and Exams: You need to register for CA Intermediate which is held in the month of March and September for the respective exams of March and November.
Validity: The validity of registration for CA Intermediate is for 4 Years. That means students after clearing CA Foundation have 8 attempts which can be exercised during the validation.
Exam Pattern: CA Intermediate Course has 2 groups. Where 1st Group has 4 subjects with 100 marks each and same as the Group 2 with 4 subjects which carry 100 each.
Step:3 Applying for Articleship And Register for Final
After clearing your CA Intermediate Exams, you are on the way to appear for the CA Finals, but before that, you need to apply for articleship for 3 years.
Articleship: Students can register for Articleship after clearing the CA Intermediate any group exams. This way you can commence the practical training after clearing both the groups of CA Intermediate Exams. This article is of 3 years which is a practical mandatory training into the Chartered Accountant Field and aspirants do receive a stipend during their Articleship.
After completing your 6 months of training, students can register for CA Final Exams and appear for them by filling the main CA Final Exam Forms aka application form online.
CA Final Registration: There is no last date for registering for the CA Final Exams but make sure to register at least before 2 months prior.
Validity: Final Exams are held in the month of May and November 2021. Validity for CA Finals registration would b for 5 years means, you simply have 10 attempts to do.
