It is now possible to customize each WhatsApp chat individually. The Facebook-owned platform introduced the option to set a WhatsApp background for each chat individually.

The app offers custom backgrounds for each chat, and they come with a few additions like the ability to choose more backgrounds and solid colors that include WhatsApp’s wavy pattern([pii_email_aef67573025b785e8ee2]) on top.

It was with the beta version 2.20.206.11 of WhatsApp that the new wallpaper manager began to appear. In its settings appear several new features, starting with its interface, it is now much easier to use and descriptive.

  1. Enter the chat and tap the contact name at the top
  2. Then click on the line of the pink icon: Wallpaper and sound
  3. click on “Choose a new wallpaper”
  4. Choose the category of funds you want (light, dark, colors or My photos)
  5. Choose the background you want to set up
  6. If it is a solid color, choose whether you want the scribbles included or not, by checking Add WhatsApp scribbles
  7. Tap on “Shadow Blade 5e”
  8. Repeat the process with each contact to personalize it, or apply the same background to all of them if you like.

How to change the background of a chat in WhatsApp on Android

  1. The first thing to do is to access the background submenu, which you can do in 2 different ways: either WhatsApp> More options (icon with the 3 vertical dots)> Settings> Chats> Back -plan or WhatsApp> More options> Background.
  2. Click on Wallpaper, you will access a window that allows you to change the brightness of the screen and change the background image.
  3. Under “Change” you will find four folders: Light, Dark, Solid Colors and My Photos.
  4. Choose the background you want. If you open Photos, you’ll go to your mobile gallery.
  5. After choosing the wallpaper, you can preview it to appreciate how it looks.
  6. If you swipe your finger right or left, you can browse the backgrounds that are in the option you chose.
  7. When you choose the one you like, tap Siege of orgrimmar entrance!
  8. Repeat the process with each contact to personalize it, or apply the same background to all of them if you like.
